We are a glass and glazing contractor working across New York City, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, with our own fabrication shop on Staten Island and our own installation crews. We do not subcontract our field work, which means the people who do the job are the people we employ.
The work is varied by nature. In a single week a crew might be on a brownstone in a historic district, a retail frontage on a trading street and a balcony door twenty floors up. That suits people who would rather solve different problems than repeat one.
Glazing installers. Window, door, storefront and curtain wall installation in occupied buildings. Experience with tilt-and-turn and multi-point hardware is particularly useful, because those systems want adjusting rather than forcing. Comfort working at height and a clean approach in people's homes matter as much as speed.
Glaziers and fabrication. Shop work — cutting, edging, drilling, insulating unit assembly and shower enclosure fabrication. Precision matters here more than anywhere, because nothing can be corrected after tempering.
Estimators. Reading drawings, surveying openings and pricing scope. The useful skill is spotting what will not build before it is ordered.
Project managers. Running jobs through lead times, access, building rules and coordination with general contractors.
Drivers and logistics. Glass handling, deliveries across the region and shop support. Careful handling is the whole job; glass is unforgiving.
Reliability first. A crew that turns up when it says it will is worth more to this business than any other single quality, because our clients are usually arranging access around residents or trading hours.
After that: care in occupied buildings, willingness to say when something is wrong rather than covering it, and enough curiosity to learn systems properly. A good deal of what we do is problem solving on site, and the people who do it well are the ones who ask why something failed rather than just replacing it.
Experience is valuable and we will train the right person without it. Several of our crew started with no glazing background.
