The buildings going up in Hunters Point, Court Square and Dutch Kills want what Cortizo does well: a curtain-wall skin with operable inserts, slim sightlines, big lites, and the thermal numbers a new building has to report. The Anable at 10-64 Jackson Avenue is the full version — a complete Cortizo envelope, curtain wall with sliding doors and tilt-turn inserts, curved glass at the corner. 5-13 47th Road is the smaller building: divided-lite tilt-turn windows and a corner storefront in the same system.
The LIC job runs with the developer’s architect and the Department of Buildings, on a construction schedule, usually with the crane or the hoist as the constraint. Our shop drawings, the curtain-wall engineering and the installation sequence are coordinated with the superstructure trade.
