The Reynaers System Ranges

Reynaers Aluminium is a Belgian systems house, and "Reynaers" on a specification is not specific enough to price against. The company designs profile systems that fabricators build to; which system is named determines the sightline, the glazing capacity and the thermal result. The ranges below are the ones available for the North American market.

Windows and Swing Doors

MasterLine 8 is the principal window and door range, with a wide set of door configurations including panel, passive, balcony and panic doors, and the pivot doors that come up constantly on high-end residential work. It is the range most often specified where the opening has to be both large and thermally serious.

MasterLine 10 is the more recent generation of the same family.

SlimLine 38 is the narrow-sightline range, using a deep thermal break with slender profiles. It is offered in Classic, Ferro and Cubic design variants, which matters because Ferro is the steel-look option — the one to reach for when the building wants the appearance of a steel window without steel's thermal behaviour. SlimLine 68 sits above it with more capacity.

CS 77 and the wider ConceptSystem family (CS 68, CS 86-HI) cover commercial and higher-insulation applications. CS 59Pa and ES 45Pa are non-thermal systems, correct for interior partitions and internal commercial doors and wrong for anything on the building envelope.

Sliding Systems

Hi-Finity is the minimal-sightline sliding range, available in two-rail, three-rail, pocket and open-corner configurations, with a high-insulation variant. It is what gets specified when the brief is the largest possible glass and the least possible frame.

ConceptPatio 130 and ConceptPatio 155 are the lift-and-slide systems, with burglar-proof and open-corner options. SlimPatio 68 and ConceptPatio 68 are the lighter-duty options, MasterPatio the newer range, and ConceptFolding 77 the folding system.

Curtain Wall and Facade

CW 50 is the stick-built curtain wall system — mullion-drained, with fireproof, high-insulation, slimline, structural-glazed and structurally-clamped variants, and an aluminium-on-steel option where the structural demand exceeds what aluminium alone will carry. CW 60, CW 65 EF and CW 86 extend the range, and ElementFacade 7 is the unitised system for buildings where the facade is assembled off site and hung as panels.

What to Ask Before Ordering

European systems are engineered and tested to EN standards. For New York work the questions that matter are whether the specific configuration has the NFRC ratings the energy code requires, whether the tested size limits cover the opening you actually have, and whether the hardware you want is inside the tested assembly. A system can be excellent and still be wrong for a particular opening if the size exceeds what was tested, and that is a question to settle before ordering rather than after.

Reynaers Systems Across Brooklyn

Which Reynaers range suits a job depends heavily on the building stock, and Brooklyn's varies sharply over short distances. The notes below describe what the areas typically call for.

Fifth Avenue and 14th Street: South Slope, Park Slope and Greenwood Heights

The stretch of Fifth Avenue around 14th Street sits where South Slope meets Greenwood Heights, with Gowanus just to the north-west. It is a mix: nineteenth-century rowhouses on the side streets, older commercial frontage along Fifth Avenue itself, and newer infill and conversions.

That mix pulls in two directions. Rowhouse work in the Park Slope Historic District is governed by the landmarks approval, and the narrow-sightline SlimLine range — particularly the Ferro steel-look variant — is often the closest aluminium equivalent to an original profile. On the avenue, commercial frontage and conversions are a CS 77 or curtain wall question instead. Two buildings a block apart can need entirely different systems.

Ocean Parkway and Avenue W: Gravesend, Homecrest and Sheepshead Bay

Ocean Parkway at Avenue W runs through Gravesend towards Homecrest and Sheepshead Bay — largely detached and semi-detached houses, two- and three-family homes, and a good deal of substantial new residential construction.

Two things shape the specification here. Ocean Parkway is a major arterial, so acoustic performance matters on the elevations facing it, and Reynaers systems use a centre gasket and acoustic seal that helps once it is paired with the right glass. And the area runs close enough to Coney Island Creek and Sheepshead Bay that salt exposure is real: the finish specification and the fixings deserve attention, and the coating question is worth asking about directly. New-build houses here also tend to want large sliding openings to rear gardens, which is Hi-Finity or ConceptPatio territory.

Williamsburg

Williamsburg is the clearest case for the commercial and unitised end of the range. Converted industrial buildings carry large openings that were originally steel, and new residential towers along the waterfront and through the northside want floor-to-ceiling glazing.

For a warehouse conversion, the SlimLine Ferro variant addresses the steel-look question in the original openings. For new build, CW 50 stick curtain wall or ElementFacade 7 unitised is the conversation, and on the waterfront the wind pressure is high enough that the design pressure comes from the engineer rather than from a catalogue. Hi-Finity comes up constantly for terrace and balcony openings where the view is the point.
