Long Island City and Astoria have put up more new apartments than anywhere in the city, and that is curtain wall, window wall and whole-building window packages: The Anable at 10-64 Jackson Avenue is a complete Cortizo envelope with a curved corner and balconies; 5-13 47th Road is Cortizo divided-lite tilt-turn windows with a glazed corner storefront; the 31st Street storefront and lobby uses laminated acoustic glass under the elevated N train. Stocked and fabricated lines run three to twelve weeks from the approved drawings; imported European systems and factory-direct container orders three to four months. Installation on a house or an apartment runs one to a few days; a whole building is scheduled floor by floor.
