Everest Aluminum Overview

We hold Everest profile in stock and fabricate in our own shop. That is the short version, and it is the reason this page exists. Most glazing contractors order profile against a job and wait. We carry material, which means production can start as soon as the drawings are settled rather than after a shipment lands.

Everest Construction Group has manufactured aluminum profile systems since 1997, with its plant in Albania and its US operation in South Hackensack, New Jersey. We fabricate the finished windows, doors and glazed assemblies here, to the openings we have surveyed.

That division is worth understanding. The profile system determines what is possible — the sightlines, the thermal break, the tested performance. The fabrication determines whether you get it: how accurately the sections are cut, assembled, sealed and glazed. Both have to be right, and we control the second one.

Why We Fabricate on Everest Profiles

Everest is a systems house rather than a window brand. They produce the aluminum profiles and the engineering behind them; we buy the system and fabricate the finished windows, doors and sliding systems in our own shop, built to the openings we have surveyed.

That distinction matters. A catalogue window comes in the sizes the factory makes. A system lets us build to the size the building actually has — which, in a New York building more than fifty years old, is never the size on the drawing.

The Practical Reason: They Stock Locally

Everest USA operates a warehouse and fabrication facility in South Hackensack, New Jersey, holding profile stock rather than ordering every length from Europe. For us that means lead times measured against a warehouse thirty minutes away rather than a shipping schedule, and the ability to get more material when a survey turns up an opening nobody expected.

The company states it has worked on projects across the five boroughs and in Fort Lee, Edgewater and Jersey City, which is the same footprint we work in.

Who Everest Are

Everest Construction Group has been manufacturing aluminum profiles since 1997, with its headquarters and plant in Tirana, Albania, and operations across North Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo and Malta. The US arm is at 208 Huyler Street, South Hackensack, New Jersey, with a second US location in Arizona.

Alongside the aluminum systems they also produce uPVC window and door systems, and they publish research on aluminum metallurgy and recycling — which is unusual for a systems house and says something about where the engineering sits.

Integrated Manufacturing

Everest describes controlling the whole chain at its European plant — melting the aluminum, producing its own billets, cutting its own dies, painting, fabricating and assembling, with engineering and systems design in the same place. It claims dies for profiles up to 500 mm, which it says only two companies in Europe can produce, and it works with an extrusion partner in Ohio for the US market.

What that means in practice is that unusual profile requirements are answerable rather than a dead end, and that the finish comes from the same source as the extrusion.

The System Ranges

Everest publish thermal performance for each series. The figures below are their published U-values in W/m²K, with the approximate US equivalent in brackets — useful because a lower number is better in both, but the scales are very different.

Tilt-and-Turn and Hinged Windows

70 000 Series — the core tilt-and-turn system. 1.9 W/m²K (about 0.33).

70 000 Hidden Sash — tilt-and-turn with the sash concealed behind the frame, so the elevation reads as a flush plane rather than showing the opening light. Takes either a European Groove or a Euronut mechanism. 1.7 W/m²K (about 0.30).

71 000 Series — tilt-and-turn at 90 mm (3 5/8″) basic depth. 1.15 W/m²K (about 0.20).

74 000 Series — tilt-and-turn at 112 mm (4 11/16″) basic depth and the best performer in the window range at 0.8 W/m²K (about 0.14). That is Passive-House territory, and the depth is what buys it.

75 000 / 76 000 Series — insulated hinged systems combining aluminum with wood, giving a timber interior and an aluminum exterior. 1.22 and 0.89 W/m²K respectively.

60 000 Series — non-insulated casement. Correct for interior and unheated applications, and the wrong choice on a conditioned envelope.

Sliding and Patio Systems

92 000 Lift & Slide — the one worth understanding. Turning the handle lifts the panel off its seals onto rollers so it glides, then lowers it onto compression seals. Everest quote outstanding water tightness and sound reduction, and 1.67 W/m²K (about 0.29). This is what we use where a client wants a large opening without the air leakage a conventional slider brings.

93 000 Minimal Slide — large-panel sliding glass wall with minimal framing, for where the brief is the most glass and the least frame. 1.39 W/m²K (about 0.24).

95 000 Series — insulated sliding in aluminum with a natural wood interior. 1.79 W/m²K.

91 000 Series — conventional sliding windows, 2.97 W/m²K. The figure tells you what a non-thermally-optimised slider costs you, and why we would not put it on a heated elevation.

63 000 Series — non-insulated single-track sliding glass walls, for unconditioned space.

62 000 Series — folding doors and windows, folding inward or outward in a range of configurations.

Entrance Doors

The Main Door range is wood-aluminum and carries the best published figure of the lot at 0.7 W/m²K (about 0.12) — which is what you would expect from an insulated door leaf rather than a glazed one.

Facade and Window Wall

33 000 in structural and semi-structural versions, for unitised facades with the appearance of all-glass construction — 1.3 and 1.7 W/m²K. 37 000 Window Wall in inswing and outswing, spanning slab to slab, with optional slab edge covers that let it read as curtain wall at lower cost. Also aluminum composite panel, ceramic tile ventilated facade, aluminum siding in woodgrain and solid finishes, and glass railing systems.

Certification and Documentation

On a specified project the question is rarely whether a system performs — it is whether the performance can be evidenced. Everest publish three things worth knowing about.

Passive House certification. Everest publish a Passive House certificate for their EV HYBRID system. That is a demanding standard and it is independently assessed, which matters on any project working toward Passive House or a comparable energy target — the certificate is the evidence, not the brochure figure.

Environmental Product Declarations. Two EPDs are published (EPD-IES-0026335_001 and EPD-IES-0026336_001). An EPD is a third-party-verified statement of a product's environmental impact across its life cycle, and it is the document a project chasing LEED or a similar rating will ask for. Most window suppliers cannot produce one.

ASI certification and reporting. Everest publish material against the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative — the responsible-sourcing standard for the aluminum industry — along with a sustainability report, a code of ethics and an anti-slavery statement.

Stock, Mullions and Lead Time

Material on the Shelf

We carry Everest window, door and curtain wall profile in stock. For a project that means the programme is governed by fabrication and installation rather than by procurement, and it means a revision after survey — an opening that turns out larger, an extra unit, aconfiguration change — does not restart a delivery clock.

It also means we can produce samples and corner sections quickly when an architect or a board wants to see the profile and the finish before committing.

100 mm and 150 mm Mullions

We stock curtain wall mullion in 100 mm and 150 mm depths, which between them cover most of what we are asked to build.

Mullion depth is a structural decision, not an aesthetic one. The mullion spans between floors and carries the wind load acting on the glazed area either side of it back to the structure. Deeper section, greater stiffness, longer span or higher load. That is why the engineer's design pressure decides the depth rather than preference.

100 mm suits shorter spans and moderate exposure — low-rise commercial, interior screens, storefront-height glazing, and residential work where the floor-to-floor height is modest.

150 mm is for longer spans and higher loads — taller floor-to-floor dimensions, exposed elevations, and the wind pressures you get at height or across open water on the Hudson and the Shore.

Both are stocked, so the specification follows the engineering rather than what happens to be available.

Interior Curtain Wall

Curtain wall is not only an exterior product. The same framing is used for interior glazed walls, atrium screens, lobby division and full-height partitions where a partition system would not carry the span or take the glass weight.

Interior applications have their own logic: the thermal break is irrelevant, but acoustic separation, safety glazing and the head and floor junctions matter a great deal — see our partitions page on why sound travels over a partition rather than through it.

What to Send Us to Start

Elevations and opening dimensions, the design pressure if an engineer has issued one, the floor-to-floor height for curtain wall, and any performance target you have been given. With material in stock, the gap between that conversation and cutting metal is short.

Choosing a Series

The pattern in the numbers is worth pointing out, because it is the whole specification decision in one line: thermal performance tracks profile depth. The 71 000 at 90 mm gives 1.15; the 74 000 at 112 mm gives 0.8. Deeper frame, better number, larger sightline, more cost.

So the question is not which series is best. It is how much depth the opening can take and what the energy target actually requires.

Where we would specify 74 000: deep retrofit, a demanding energy target, or a house where whole-envelope performance is the brief and the frames can be deep.

Where 71 000 or 70 000 is the sensible answer: most replacement work, where the opening constrains depth and the code target is achievable without paying for the top of the range.

Where 92 000 lift-and-slide belongs: any large sliding opening on a conditioned space, particularly at height or on an exposed elevation, where a brush-sealed slider will leak.

Where the non-insulated series belong: interior screens, unheated sunrooms, garages and covered space. Not on a heated envelope, whatever the price difference.

Recent Everest Projects

2518 Ocean Avenue, Brooklyn — a new residential condominium tower where we fabricated and installed the complete window and balcony door package on Everest profile from our own stock: custom windows in fixed and operable configurations, balcony doors to every terrace, and Oldcastle insulated units with Solarban 60 low-e and argon fill throughout. 99 Claremont Avenue, Manhattan — McGiffert Hall, the early-1930s Collegiate Gothic dormitory beside Riverside Church in Morningside Heights, converted to student housing. We fabricated and installed the replacement windows across the front facade on Everest profile: divided-lite units sized to every stone opening, from the tall tracery bays to the turret lights and roof dormers. 2535 Frederick Douglass Boulevard, Harlem — a new eight-storey mixed-use building at West 136th Street where we supplied the whole aluminum and glass envelope on Everest profile: the apartment windows, a two-storey curtain wall wrapping the corner, aluminum composite panels and capping across the facade, and glass railings at the roof deck. Everest Work Across the Region

These describe the kind of work each area brings rather than any specific client project.

Northern New Jersey — Fort Lee, Edgewater, Jersey City, Hoboken. The stock is held in South Hackensack, so this is the shortest supply line we have. High-rise waterfront work here wants compression-sealed systems for the wind exposure.

Detached housing — Staten Island, Jamaica Estates, Bergen County, Todt Hill. Room for deep frames and large sliding openings, which is where the 74 000 and the 92 000 earn their cost.

Brooklyn and Queens residential. Whole-building replacement programmes where every opening differs, which is precisely the case for fabricating on a system rather than ordering catalogue sizes. See custom fabrication.

Commercial and mixed-use. Window wall and facade work where the 37 000 gives the look of curtain wall at lower cost, and storefront and entrance systems below.
