Cortizo is a Spanish system house — one of the largest aluminium extruders in Europe — and, like Reynaers, it sells profile systems to fabricators rather than finished windows to the public. There is no Cortizo store in the United States. Alex GC fabricates Cortizo systems at our Staten Island shop and installs them across New York City, Long Island and New Jersey: the Anable in Long Island City is a complete Cortizo building envelope, and the East 64th Street townhouse and Gravesend Neck Road are Cortizo window packages.
Cortizo sits a step below Reynaers on price with very similar performance, which makes it the European system we recommend most often for a house or a small building that wants slim black tilt-and-turns without the top-tier premium. 165 East 64th Street, Upper East Side — a rebuilt five-storey limestone townhouse in Lenox Hill with the complete glazing package on Cortizo: tilt-and-turn windows front and rear, a garden bifold door, terrace and sliding doors, custom glass railings and shower panels, all from one shop.

5-13 47th Road, Long Island City — one of several new brick buildings in Hunters Point built to one design, where we fabricated and installed the full window package on Cortizo profile: divided-lite tilt-and-turn windows to every floor, tall narrow units on the side elevation, a full-height glazed main entrance wrapping the corner at street level, and the exterior balcony railings in ½″ tempered glass with an aluminum base shoe and top rail. The project page shows how the grid module was carried from the entrance glazing up through the punched windows.
