← Long Island

In short: Alex Glass Construction is a window supplier and aluminum window fabricator for Long Island. We make thermally broken aluminum windows and doors at our own shop, supply Pella, Andersen, Marvin, Crystal and uPVC lines, order factory-direct packages from several manufacturers in China with local drawings and warranty, prepare the shop drawings from your plans, and deliver to job sites in Nassau and Suffolk on our trucks, with installation by our crews if you want it. Surfview Towers in Long Beach and the custom house on Amherst Drive in Woodmere are our work. Call 929-235-1233 or request a free quote.

A window supplier that is also the fabricator and the installer

Builders on Long Island buy windows two ways: a custom house or a renovation where the owner has chosen Pella, Andersen or Marvin and wants one company to supply and install it, and a multi-family or commercial building where the GC wants a schedule priced in uPVC, aluminum and factory-direct aluminum so the owner can choose. On the South Shore and the barrier islands the third factor is the ocean: the design pressure and the salt air decide the system and the finish, and we specify to them; see the coastal section of Long Island windows, doors and glass.

Surfview Towers at 25 Franklin Boulevard, Long Beach had every window replaced on an oceanfront building; Amherst Drive in Woodmere is a new custom house with Pella windows inside a complete envelope by us; Cedarhurst is a new black aluminum storefront. Pella and Andersen are supplied and installed across Nassau and Suffolk.

What we supply

How a supply order works

  1. Plans or a window schedule. Send the architect’s set or a list of openings with rough sizes. We do the take-off and quote per opening with the system, glass and hardware named.
  2. Shop drawings. Every opening drawn for approval before fabrication; see design, planning and drawings.
  3. Fabrication or factory order. Aluminum made at our shop; uPVC, vinyl and American lines ordered to the approved drawings; factory-direct packages ordered by the container. Lead times run three to twelve weeks by line and three to four months for container orders; when to order explains how to plan around the schedule.
  4. Delivery. On our trucks with a liftgate, to the floor or the yard you tell us, crated and labeled by opening.
  5. Installation — by our crews, or by yours with our shop drawings and a site start.

For contractors buying in volume, see wholesale windows for contractors and bulk window orders for builders; for the case for buying imported windows through a local company, see why buy imported windows through a local representative.

Yes. For general contractors we supply to the window schedule: take-off, shop drawings, fabrication or factory order, and delivery, with installation by your crew or ours.

Do you do shop drawings?

Yes. Every opening is drawn for approval before anything is made, from the architect’s set or our survey.

How long is the lead time?

Three to twelve weeks by line: uPVC and vinyl are the fastest, fabricated aluminum in the middle, imported European systems the longest; factory-direct container orders take three to four months from approved drawings. Order from approved shop drawings, not from the rough opening.

Can you supply factory-direct windows from China?

Yes. We are an authorized distributor for several window and door manufacturers in China. The package is surveyed, drawn, cleared, delivered and warrantied by us locally, which is the difference between importing and buying through a representative.

Thermally broken aluminum or clad-wood with a marine-grade finish, laminated or impact-rated glass where the design pressure or the insurer requires it, and stainless hardware. Surfview Towers on the Long Beach boardwalk is specified that way.
